What's included

What's included in a house clean.

Every house clean works through the spaces you actually live in, to the same defined checklist. The full list is below. Here's the headline.

Kitchens wiped down: benchtops, splashback, cooktop, the outside of appliances and cabinet fronts, sink and taps.
Bathrooms cleaned: showers, baths, toilets, basins, mirrors and taps left fresh.
Every floor done: carpets vacuumed and hard floors mopped, right into the corners.
Dusting throughout: surfaces, furniture, window sills, skirting boards, light fittings and electronics.
The detail touches: doors and frames wiped, light switches and power points, cobwebs cleared, beds made on request.
Bins emptied, rooms reset: so the whole home feels tidy, not just clean.

Step-by-step process

How a house clean works.

Booking takes under a minute, and every clean runs the same way: a trained team, the same checklist, and a quick check at the end so nothing's missed.

A fixed price in a minute, one-off or regular.

Most people get a fixed house-clean price straight away online, with live availability. Pick a one-off date, or set up a regular weekly or fortnightly slot.

  • Pop in your details and a bit about your home, and your price shows in seconds.
  • Choose a one-off clean or a recurring weekly or fortnightly schedule.
  • A trained, background-checked team is assigned to your booking.
  • Add extras like oven, windows or carpets before the day if you need them.

We turn up ready: gear, products, the lot.

You don't supply or prep a thing. Leave access however suits you and the team lets themselves in, no need to be home.

  • Commercial-grade equipment and the right product for every surface come with the team.
  • Leave a key, lockbox or entry code, since most people are out when we clean.
  • On a regular schedule? We'll send the same cleaner whenever we can.
  • Anything you'd like prioritised that day, just leave a note on your booking.

Room by room, to the same checklist.

Every visit follows the same defined scope, so you get the same result whether it's week one or week fifty.

  • Kitchen: benchtops, splashback, cooktop, appliance exteriors, sink, taps and cabinet fronts.
  • Bathrooms: showers, baths, toilets, basins, mirrors and taps.
  • Dusting throughout: surfaces, furniture, window sills, skirting boards and light fittings.
  • Doors, frames, light switches and power points wiped, and cobwebs cleared.
  • Every floor vacuumed into the corners and hard floors mopped by hand.
  • Bins emptied, beds made on request, and the home left tidy.

A quick check before we go.

The team runs back over the home against the checklist so nothing's missed, and if anything's not right, we'll come back and fix it.

  • Each room checked against the scope before the team leaves.
  • Any missed spots sorted on the spot.
  • Not happy with something? Tell us within 48 hours and we come back, free.
  • On a schedule? Your next clean is already locked in, no need to rebook.

The same trained local teams and the same defined standard, whichever clean you book. Pick the one that fits your home and get a fixed price in minutes.

Regular Cleaning

The regular visit is the one most Wellington homes settle into: weekly or fortnightly, booked once and running on its own from there. The same cleaner comes back each time wherever we can manage it, learns your steps and your quirks, and keeps the place ticking over so you never face a big catch-up. Pick weekly for a small saving per visit, or fortnightly if that suits the household better.

Deep Cleaning

This is the intensive one, the detail a weekly visit never gets to: oven and range hood interiors, grout and tile, skirtings, door tops, and behind anything that moves safely. Wellington's heritage villas hold a lot of that detail and the damp climate adds to it, so a deep clean tends to land before visitors, after a renovation, or as an annual reset on a place that's been ticking along.

View service

End of Tenancy

The move-out clean is mapped to the bond-return standard Wellington property managers check against: interior windows, oven and range hood done in full, all cabinets and drawers, fridge on request, walls spot-cleaned where reasonable. Should anything get flagged at handover, you've got 48 hours to tell us and we'll come back and put it right at no cost.

View service

Window Cleaning

Inside and out, the glass plus the frames, sills and tracks, on single or two-storey places. Pure-water poles take care of upper floors where it's safe to reach them, and ladders stay clear of anything sloped or fragile. It earns its keep in the southern and eastern bays, where the salt wind films the glass quickly, and on the tall hill villas where the top windows are otherwise out of reach. Balcony panels and skylights are priced as separate work.

Carpet Cleaning

What most people call steam cleaning is really hot-water extraction: it drives embedded grit and dust out of the pile and leaves the carpet feeling reset. Common stains get pre-treated, and deodorising is there if you want it. Wellington's damp winters stretch dry times, so we plan the visit to get the room back in use without holding up your day.

Add-ons like oven, carpet and windows are priced separately, and if a package doesn't fit, we offer hourly rates too.

Across Wellington

House cleaning across Wellington.

Our trained Wellington teams cover the city and the bays: the central suburbs and Te Aro, out to Karori and Brooklyn, the eastern and southern bays, and up the valley to the northern suburbs. Pop in your address at booking and it confirms in seconds whether you're in range.

Wellington doesn't have one kind of home, and the clean flexes to suit. Thorndon, Mount Victoria and Kelburn are heritage villas and character cottages: more rooms, more detail, and plenty of stairs. Te Aro and the CBD run to apartments and converted warehouses, smaller footprints but tight and detail-dense, often with building access to sort. The hill suburbs and the bays, Brooklyn, Karori and Miramar, are weatherboard homes with steep drives and no off-street parking. We clean all of them to the one checklist.

For most Wellington households the regular weekly or fortnightly clean is the one that earns its place, the same trained cleaner who already knows your steps and your street.

100 % Guarantee
Not happy? We come back.

If your house clean isn't right, tell us within 48 hours and we'll come back and sort it, at no extra cost. The guarantee covers everything that was part of your booking. (It doesn't cover jobs that weren't booked: if windows weren't on the list, they're not included.)

FAQ

House cleaning FAQs.

What Wellington customers most often want to know before booking.

The lot, from the central city out. Teams work the inner suburbs and Te Aro, west to Karori and Brooklyn, through the eastern and southern bays, and up the valley to the northern suburbs, plus Porirua and the Hutt. Pop your address in when you book and it confirms in seconds.
Both, and apartments are a big slice of our Wellington work, Te Aro, the CBD, Mount Victoria and Thorndon especially. Houses, townhouses, units and apartments all get the same checklist. For an apartment, tell us at booking whether it's an entry code, lift or concierge for access.
Yes, it's most of what we do. One weekly or fortnightly slot, set up once, then it runs by itself, the same trained cleaner wherever we can manage it, so they learn your steps and your quirks. Weekly is a little cheaper per visit than fortnightly.
That's most of Wellington, and our local teams are used to it. Leave the access notes at booking, how many steps, where the key is, where there's a park, and the team works around it. A hillside villa or a bay home with no driveway is an ordinary day for us, not a problem.
Yes, plenty of them, through Te Aro, the CBD, Mount Victoria and Thorndon, including converted warehouses. The clean's the same; just let us know at booking how access works, whether that's a building code, a lift or a concierge.
Every clean runs the rooms you live in against a set checklist: the kitchen (benches, cooktop, appliance fronts, sink, cabinet faces), bathrooms (showers, baths, toilets, basins, mirrors, taps), dusting throughout, doors and skirtings wiped, bins emptied, floors vacuumed and mopped. The full room-by-room list is above, and you can add oven, fridge, windows or carpets at booking.
Yes, just two names for one service. A trained, insured local team cleans your home to the same room-by-room checklist for a fixed price you see up front. It covers houses, townhouses, units and apartments right across Wellington.
The clean is identical either way, same checklist and scope. A one-off is a single booking, ideal as a reset. A regular clean is a weekly or fortnightly visit arranged once that then runs on its own, usually with the same cleaner, keeping a tidy home on top of itself. Want a deeper, top-to-bottom clean? That's the deep clean.
The price is fixed by home size, from $85 for a one-bedroom, one-bathroom (full table above), with extras costed separately. If a package doesn't suit, there's an hourly option. Book online to see the exact price before you commit, no hidden extras.
Roughly an hour and a half for a one-bedroom. Larger homes run longer, so does a first clean after a gap, or a booking with extras like oven, carpet or windows. You'll see an estimated time at booking.
No. Most people leave a key, lockbox or code and come back to a finished home. Tell us your preferred way in at booking and the team handles the rest.
Yes, without exception. Every Spruce cleaner is fully insured, background- and police-vetted, and trained in our system before working in your home. Only vetted cleaners get sent.
Yes. The team arrives fully equipped with commercial-grade gear, and every house clean uses eco-friendly, biodegradable products that are safe for families and pets, so you don't supply or prep a thing. Prefer we use your own products, or need fragrance-free? Just let us know at booking and we'll work to it.
On a weekly or fortnightly schedule, yes, wherever we can, so they get to know your place. If your usual cleaner's away, another trained team member steps in and works the same checklist.
Yes, inside oven, inside fridge, range hood, dishwasher, interior and exterior windows, blinds, walls, ceilings and carpet steam cleaning are all optional. Add them at booking and they're done in the one visit, one team, one invoice.
Jump into your Spruce account any time to reschedule, cancel, or add and remove services. All we ask is at least 24 hours' notice, otherwise a $60 fee may apply.
