Work with us

Work with Spruce.

Spruce doesn't hire through job boards. Our cleaners come through Cleaning Jobs, our recruitment and onboarding arm: one application, reviewed individually, with training and certification to the Spruce standard before any customer's home. This page is the short version of how that works.

Who we look for

Reliability beats a perfect CV.

There's no CV upload and no cover letter. What we actually care about is simpler than that.

Reliability — turning up on time, every time, matters more than anything else in this work.
Attention to detail — caring about the corners nobody checks, and following checklists without shortcuts.
The right to work in New Zealand — required. It's confirmed in the application and verified during onboarding.
Experience helps, but isn't always required — training to the Spruce standard brings suitable applicants up to speed. Individuals, small teams and partnerships can all apply.
How it works

One application, five stages.

You apply once at Cleaning Jobs with a short form: your location, availability, transport and the work types that interest you. Every application is reviewed by a person. Suitable applicants are verified (right to work, plus basic checks), then trained and certified against the same checklists used on every Spruce clean. Certified cleaners become eligible for suitable work as demand comes up in their area.

One honest note: work isn't guaranteed. Allocation depends on demand, suitability, availability, and certification, and the working arrangement is confirmed during onboarding.

Where to start

Auckland first, then your region.

Auckland is our home base and the first place to look: see cleaning jobs in Auckland. We also service Wellington, Hamilton and Tauranga, and Cleaning Jobs accepts applications from other regions too, and reviews every one. And if you're after a cleaner rather than a job, you're still in the right place: book a clean online in under a minute.
