A little about Riverhead.
Riverhead sits at the head of the upper Waitematā Harbour in Auckland's northwest, around twenty-six kilometres from the city and just east of Kumeu. It's an old settlement, known for its historic riverside village and the large Riverhead Forest, that has grown quickly in recent years as new subdivisions have gone in around the town. The homes run from established village houses and new family builds to lifestyle blocks on the rural roads and out toward the forest.
The village sits by the water at the head of the harbour, with the historic tavern by the river and the forest a short drive away, popular for biking, riding and walking, while the Coatesville-Riverhead Highway links the town through to Coatesville and beyond.
