Garden Clean Up NZ

An overgrown garden, back under control.

A garden clean-up sorts out an overgrown section, whether it's been one busy season or a few years. Spruce cuts it back, weeds the beds, mows what's left of the lawn and takes the green waste away. Book it before a sale, at the end of a tenancy, or when you've just moved in.

The right-sized clean-up

From a tidy-up to a full clear-out.

Some gardens need a day of catching up. Others need clearing back to the fence line. Tell us what you're dealing with and we'll price the job.

How a clean-up works

A clean-up done in the right order.

Clearing a garden goes faster, and looks better at the end, when it's done top to bottom. This is the order we work in.

Walk round first. We agree what stays and what goes before anything's cut, so nothing you love ends up in the green waste.

Cut back from the top. Overgrown shrubs and hedges first, so the clippings land where they'll be cleared anyway.

Beds weeded and edged. Weeds pulled or dug out, then the edges cut back so the beds look like beds again.

Lawns last. Long grass cut down in stages, and the edges trimmed once everything else is done.

Everything cleared. Green waste loaded up and taken away, and paths and decks blown clean.

Lawns: mowed and edged, with long grass taken down in stages.
Leaves and debris: raked up across the section.
Fence lines: cleared of overgrowth.
Hard surfaces: paths, drives and decks blown clean.
Green waste: loaded up and taken away.
A final walk round: together, or photos sent if you're not there.

Common clean-ups

When a garden needs a clean-up.

Most clean-ups come down to timing: a sale, a move, or a garden that's simply got away. Here's when they're usually booked.

Before a sale

Front and back sorted before the listing photos. Pairs well with a pre-sale clean.

End of a tenancy

Gardens brought back for the final inspection, when the grounds are part of the tenancy. Book it with an end-of-tenancy clean.

Just moved in

A fresh start when you've bought a house with a neglected garden.

After time away

Gardens that ran wild while you were overseas or the house sat empty.

Spring and autumn

A seasonal reset: cut back, weeded and cleared, ready for the months ahead.

Before regular care starts

A one-off clean-up that gets the garden to a point where regular visits can keep it there.
