A little about Eden Terrace.
Eden Terrace is a small, central suburb on the southern fringe of the city, just below Karangahape Road and bordered by the CBD, Mt Eden, Kingsland and Grey Lynn. It started out as a commercial and light-industrial pocket, full of car yards and workshops, and has been turning residential for years, with apartments and converted buildings now sitting alongside the older villas and cottages on the side streets. It is one of the most central places you can live without being in the CBD itself.
New North Road and the top of Symonds Street and Mt Eden Road run through it, with Karangahape Road and its bars and restaurants just up the hill, the universities a short walk away, and the motorway junction right on the edge. Basque Park gives the area a bit of green in the middle of it all.
