A little about Greenlane.
Greenlane is a central isthmus suburb bounded by Epsom, Newmarket, Remuera and One Tree Hill. It was dairy and grain country until the 1890s, when the suburbs started to spread across it, and since the early 1990s townhouses have gone in among the older villas and bungalows. Cornwall Park, gifted to Auckland by John Logan Campbell in 1901, is right alongside.
Great South Road runs through the suburb, with Greenlane station and the Southern Motorway close by. Greenlane Clinical Centre, the former Green Lane Hospital, is here, and so are the Showgrounds on Greenlane Road West, home of the Royal Easter Show.
