A little about Henderson.
Henderson is the commercial and civic heart of West Auckland, around twelve kilometres west of the city, with the town centre, the mall and the main shopping strips at its core. The housing runs the full range: older and post-war family homes, a growing number of townhouses and apartments near the centre, and larger properties on bigger sections as you head up Henderson Valley toward the foothills of the Waitākere Ranges. It is one of the most diverse and busiest parts of the west.
Great North Road and Lincoln Road carry most of the traffic, with WestCity and the Henderson town centre, the library and the train station all close together. The area has deep wine roots, with Corban Estate, now an arts centre, and the old Henderson Valley wineries just up the road, and Falls Park giving the centre some green by the stream.
