A little about Three Kings.
Three Kings sits about six kilometres south of the city centre, between Royal Oak and Mt Roskill. It takes its name from Te Tātua-a-Riukiuta, a volcano that had three prominent peaks until most of them were quarried away. The old Winstone quarry at the southern end of Mt Eden Road is now being built into a neighbourhood of 600 to 700 homes, from two-storey terraces to a ten-storey block stepped against the quarry wall.
Three Kings Plaza has the supermarket and shops, and the Mt Roskill library sits above the Fickling Convention Centre. New paths will link the quarry homes to the town centre and Big King.
